The biggest fireworks show in America, Thunder Over Louisville is also the kickoff of the exciting two week Kentucky Derby Festival. Rated as one of the top 100 events in North America, The Kentucky Derby Opening Ceremonies, and specifically Thunder Over Louisville, features eight 400-foot barges assembled on both sides of the 2nd Street Bridge, located just outside Sheraton Louisville Riverside hotel. The breathtaking 28-minute show was created by Zambelli Internationale, America's "first family of fireworks".

Kentucky Derby: April 30 - May 1, 2010
"The most exciting two minutes in sports," this premiere horse racing event has occurred annually for over 130 years at the famous Churchill Downs, located just fifteen minutes from the Sheraton Louisville Riverside hotel. Abbey Road On The River: May 27 - 31, 2010
The world's largest Beatles inspired music festival, Abbey Road On The River features over 60 Beatles tribute bands and is located at Belvedere Festival Park, just five minutes from Sheraton Louisville Riverside hotel. Sing along with John Lennon look-alikes and sound-alikes and take a trip back in time with your favorite music. The five-day music festival first began back in 2002 and sees attendance of over 30,000 people annually.
HullabaLOU Music Fest: July 22 - 25, 2010
The biggest three day summer music festival can be found in Louisville's famous Churchill Downs Racetrack, only a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Featuring famous musicians of classic rock, country, adult contemporary, rock and bluegrass music attendees can share the finest tunes from over 65 bands. The festival takes place from 1 p.m. until 11 p.m. each day. In 2010, the festival features headliners including Bon Jovi, Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews Band.
FEI World Equestrian Games: September 25 - October 10, 2010
Since 1990, the FEI World Equestrian Games have been one of the most significant international championships for equestrianism. Held every two years between each Summer Olympics, many feel the FEI World Equestrian Games are more important than the Olympics for this sport. Ten disciples are competed, including combined driving, dressage, endurance riding, show jumping, vaulting and more.
In 2010, Kentucky will be the first host outside of Europe since the games inception. Hosted at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, just one and half hours from Sheraton Louisville Riverside Hotel, the competition will present many of the world's top riders and skilled horses.
